About me

Hi, I'm Sukhninder (Sukh). I want to start by saying thank you for viewing my profile. I am a registered member of The British Association for Counselling (BACP) and a skilled and qualified psychodynamic counsellor along with training in CBT therapy. I've worked with both adults and young people

I aim to offer you a safe, stable space to understand and accompany you on that journey by understanding you and what you want to discuss.

I offer both short and long-term therapy either in person, online or by telephone.

Training, qualifications & experience

Experience & Training

My experience and training have provided me with a thorough awareness of the complex mental health requirements of different communities.  In addition to my practice, I work as a hospice palliative care and bereavement therapist. My experience includes NHS Talking Therapies (CBT IAPT) providing long and short-term therapy to individuals with a variety of issues, including more complicated mental health presentations. Along with relationship problems, sexuality, loss of identity and more.

I use the Psychodynamic theory to help you get to your core, looking at the impact of your childhood on your adult life, and at unconscious processes that are influencing how you behave now.

I attend regular supervision to support my work and I am fully insured.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
