About me

Thank you for visiting my page. I'm Sue Munday, a Psychodynamic Counsellor located in Dumfries and Galloway, with offices in both Castle Douglas and Dumfries.
The sea, in all its variations, captivates me. Especially on stormy days, it exudes a wild and uncontrollable energy. Perhaps, like the sea, your life occasionally feels chaotic and overwhelming. I firmly believe that eventually, 'all waves settle,' and perhaps you're seeking support to reach that calmer state. Just as waves ebb and flow, so do our emotions. Do you ever find yourself caught in a cycle of ups and downs, where challenges seem to knock you down only to resurface later, repeating the pattern?
If you're grappling with life's challenges, I'm here to help you navigate through your complex feelings, thoughts, and emotions. Through psychodynamic exploration, we can untangle the threads of your past to uncover any outdated messages, defenses, or coping mechanisms that might be hindering your progress. By understanding how your past influences your present, we can work towards creating a more fulfilling future. Perhaps you're unknowingly projecting your past onto your future and yearn for change. Together, we can address this.
I offer counseling sessions in person, over the phone, or securely online via Google Meet, catering to individuals of all ages—from children to the elderly. As a member of COSCA, I adhere to their Code of Ethics, ensuring a professional and confidential environment.
With over twenty years of experience supporting individuals of various ages and backgrounds, I've cultivated a deep understanding of human needs and complexities. My journey began in art college, but my true passion lies in helping people achieve their fullest potential. My professional path led me to work with adults with additional support needs and later with young people at a mental health charity, ultimately inspiring me to pursue counselling.
Embarking on counselling may feel intimidating at first, but it can quickly become a sanctuary—a space where you can breathe freely amidst life's chaos. It's a confidential haven where you can express yourself openly, knowing you won't be judged.
