About me
Hello,
My name is Samantha and I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist trained in a person-centered approach.
Along side having my own private practice I also work for a charity in Rochdale working with people who have been involved in domestic abuse and I am also a sessional counsellor working with schools all over the Rochdale Borough. I support individuals with a vast range of mental health issues and people from all walks of life.
Being an integrative counsellor allows me to combine different interventions into our sessions so there is no one size fits all feelings. We are all different therefore sessions should be made to fit around you, this allows for the focus to be on you and what you would like to gain from the sessions.
I strive to ensure you have a safe and secure place for you to be completely yourself and allowing someone to listen to you and where you feel heard without judgement, meaning you can start the healing process. We will work together at a pace that is comfortable for you and explore your thoughts, feelings and presenting issues. This will allow us to collaboratively work together on issues you bring to sessions.
I work out of an office based in the Rossendale area and offer online/telephone counselling for those who prefer or are unable to travel and face to face. I offer short-term, long-term therapy and also maintainers (this could be monthly) again to ensure this suits the needs or flexibility for you and removing that pressure.
As a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I strive to follow their ethical guidelines and code of practice therefore, making sure to provide ethical therapy.
Like all counsellors, I have supervision once a month to ensure I am giving my clients the best possible sessions and therapy they can receive.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

"Accessing therapy is the single most important thing I have ever done!" - Anonymous April 2025
"I’ve had counselling before in the past, but I didn’t find someone who I gelled with until I met Sam. Sam was able to tell when I wasn’t being myself and helped me reflect on situations. I feel that Sam’s honesty with me helped me feel like someone was there for me and that she truly understood me. Sam always put me at ease, and I came out of my sessions feely so relieved. Sam is easy to talk to and thank you for getting me through this hard time, I genuinely don’t think I would have been able to get through this without my weekly sessions." - Anonymous November 2022
