About me

I am an accredited adult psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), as well as a UKCP recognised supervisor and training supervisor.

My substantial clinical experience is drawn from a deep well of people focused work in a variety of settings and services spanning health, education and social care, as well as in private practice.

I am interested in facilitating exploration and supporting reflection and the development of awareness in relationship. I am inspired by the resilience of our inherent health and enjoy how this aliveness creatively calls us to live ever deeper from the fullness of our being.

What I do

I work with adults (18 - 65+). I provide the opportunity to talk in depth and in confidence with an experienced therapist who listens respectfully and actively.

I offer support to develop awareness and understanding about yourself and your experiences and encouragement to explore what might enable you to resolve difficulties and make lasting changes.

It is important that you feel right about your choice of therapist. I offer a reduced cost initial meeting as an opportunity for us to get a sense of how it might be to work together and at the same time clarify what your particular needs might be.

If we mutually decide to work together we will meet in person, for weekly sessions of one hour, for an agreed initial period of time. Ongoing work will be reviewed regularly.

Therapeutic approach

The therapeutic model for my work is Core Process Psychotherapy. This is a mindfulness-based approach to exploring our present experience in a way that honours both our potential and our sense of suffering. Core in this is the recognition that we are inherently healthy and whole; a natural state available in each moment.

This gentle enquiry recognises all aspects of what it means to be human – the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual expressions of being.

I facilitate the building of a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship, the development of compassionate curiosity and reflective clarity. This relationship and the space it offers supports and enables resolution and personal growth.

In our work together we attend to expanding your personal resources, including drawing on the creativity of the ordinary and the everyday; this helps to contain the work and support your ongoing journey.

Supervision

I offer individual and group supervision to counsellors, psychotherapists and anyone working with people. I am happy to supervise within organisations or agency settings. My mindful and reflective approach to supervision acknowledges both the rewards and the challenges that professionals encounter in their work with others.
