About me
Rachel provides a safe space for you to express yourself. Creative expression is a very powerful tool because during traumatic events we retain images and colour but often lose the ability to speak or think clearly. Using creativity, we can process these adverse experiences and move forward with a new sense of freedom.
Training, qualifications & experience
Rachel is a fully qualified Art Therapist, achieving a Distinction at Masters, Level 7.
She has a special interest in trauma and is a Certified ITR Trauma Specialist. She has experience working with the homeless and worked in Education for many years. Recently she has been working with looked after children and runs a bereavement group in Chester Cathedral.
She offers individual sessions, group sessions and intensive ITR trauma recovery days.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
The Association of Christian Counsellors and Linked Professions is a professional body representing and setting standards for Christian counselling and care in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
