About me

I aim to help you find a way forward.

If you are feeling depressed or anxious, for whatever reason, I can help you. Whether it is your relationship, family issues, trauma or difficulties at work, please get in contact.

I have 22 years experience of working with people with depression and feeling unable to cope, and I know that counselling can help you. I can offer you a safe environment to explore whatever it is that you are struggling with.

If you have been affected by trying to cope with this ever shifting world and feel that it would help to talk about this, I am here to listen and help you.

Our world has changed, and is continuing to change, and this can be a very unsettling time. Our contact with others and our ways of working have also changed and making these adjustments is difficult to make sense of. I know that I have had to rethink lots of things as I expect you have too.

Unexpectedly spending all your time alone or with your family can cause all kinds of mood swings and doubts about relationships and life in general. If you have been feeling anxious, low or depressed, talking to someone outside your situation can help to clear the fog, and allow for you to make different choices.

As you have probably become aware, we are developing new channels for communication and this includes counselling, making it far more accessible from wherever you are in the world. I work Face to Face, via Zoom, telephone, or walking/talking sessions.

So, please, don't struggle on thinking that there is no help for you. I am here, and waiting for you. I have had a lot of experience with online counselling and am very comfortable to introduce you to this way of working. It works.

I offer counselling  sessions tailored to suit your needs. Whatever your path through life, whether you are living with emotional wounding that goes way back,  or dealing with more recent difficulties,  my aim is to help you deepen your insight and expand your vision to find a more beneficial and meaningful way of living.

My counselling practice goes back twenty two and is the result of both personal and professional discoveries,  which have led me to ways of working with people that can be effective with all ages and concerns,  however diverse.

I  worked in the NHS as a Senior Counsellor for almost fifteen years, as well as in the voluntary sector and private practice.

I am fundamentally an existential counsellor but draw on a range of different resources to bring therapeutic help to personal,  professional, emotional, cognitive, behavioural, creative, existential and spiritual concerns.

I am aware that talking therapies can be difficult at times and although we might need help, it can be hard to put things into words, which is why I also work in creative ways as well, such as stones, drawing, sand tray, dreams, metaphors.

Whether your concerns are psychological symptoms or something else that's hard to define,  I'm happy to talk with you about your needs.

I also offer supervision to other counsellors.

Get in touch when you feel ready to take the next step.........

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

Sound therapy is excellent for stress,  anxiety,  depression,  relaxation, both physical and emotional discomfort.

During a sound therapy session, you will simply lie down (fully clothed), and be immersed in the powerful sound waves created by the gongs enabling the mind and body to relax and release any stress and tension.

I also offer walking talking sessions, and  so if you would prefer your session outdoors,  we can discuss a way to make this happen, or we can just sit outdoors and talk.
