About me

" I am not what happened to me. I am what I choose to become. “

                   - Carl Gustav Jung-

Hello and a warm welcome to you. Are you struggling with emotional pain? Psychological suffering can affect every aspect of our life. It impacts on the quality of our relationships, it prevents us from achieving our goals,  and from living up to our true potential. Upsetting, overwhelming and unsettling internal experience can be transformed in therapy, which is my warm invitation for you...

In order to be willing to sail the unchartered waters of one's psyche, it is vital to find a therapist that can be trusted. My primary aim is to facilitate a safe,  empathic  and encouraging space for my clients where psychological pain can be explored and validated without the fear of judgement or rejection.

I believe there is a solution imminent in every hardship that life throws at us, may it be as simple as compassionate acceptance at times. My role is to guide and to empower my clients on this transformative journey towards the life they desire.

I was trained in all mainstream therapeutic modalities, so I aim to tailor my approach to the unique needs and goals of each client.

While facilitating the empathic and non-judgemental environment, where we can focus on here-and-now exploration, counts as the basic healing modality, I utilize various evidence-based interventions and techniques that could allow for the desired therapeutic change.

I tend to encourage psychodynamic exploration of childhood experiences, existential self-reflection, cognitive thought deconstruction, and post-traumatic narrative reframing, to mention but a few.

I believe that our deep psychological motivation is driven by longing for safety,  love, belonging, and authentic actualization. Human suffering is the individual response to life circumstances that prevent or violate the fulfilment of the basic psychological needs of being loved, safe, acknowledged and understood.

In my therapeutic work, I focus on how psychological pain developed within the context of each client's individual existence,  how is it experienced, how it transpires in everyday living and how it can be transformed, leading to a fuller and more satisfying life.

Ultimately, I always regard the client’s autonomy and work in accordance with the client’s personality and uniqueness towards the selected therapeutic goals.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
