About me

I am an experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist for children and adolescents and teacher with 20 years' experience in both primary and secondary schools.

I am now also a family counsellor in training with Relate and I aim to support families through communication struggles, conflict resolution, parenting issues and emotional well-being.

I am dedicated to supporting children and adolescents with their emotional well-being and personal growth. With a compassionate and client-centred approach, I aim to empower children and young people to overcome challenges and thrive in their lives.

As a family counsellor in training, I can help with relationship struggles, adolescent issues, or improving overall family dynamics, I tailor my sessions to meet your unique needs. Collaboration with all family members is key, working closely with each person to foster understanding and connection. My goal is to empower your family and to offer you the tools and skills you need to communicate better, resolve conflicts and strengthen your bonds.

I have a Masters from Roehampton University, specialising in work with children, adolescents and families. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) - Registration Number 403762.

I am training with Relate for a Certificate in Family Counselling which concludes in June 2025.

Disclosure and Barring Service - Enhanced Certificate.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters qualification to work with children and young people with a range of challenges such as: anxiety, depression, self-harm; low self-esteem; autism; bereavement; social anxiety and parental separation. I work cooperatively, via play therapy with children and use a collaborative approach with young people. A strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the work which takes place in a safe, confidential space.

As an Integrative therapist, I combine techniques from various therapeutic approaches: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Play Therapy & Theraplay principles, to create an approach that best fits each child or young person. This allows me to adapt to the young person's age, developmental stage, personality and presenting issues.

I am training with Relate as a Family Counsellor and can help with relationship struggles, adolescent issues, or improving overall family dynamics. I tailor my sessions to meet your unique needs. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques, ensuring that the therapy is effective and goal-orientated.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
