About me

Life throws us all challenges from time to time. Looking for support to manage these challenges can feel overwhelming, it is, however, an important step towards change. Book a free 20-minute consultation with me now, to discuss how you might benefit from therapy.

I am a proficient experienced counsellor and a registered member of the BACP. I offer short and long-term face-to-face and online counselling to children, young people and adults.

Counselling can help provide an understanding of how past experiences may impact you in the here and now. You can bring to the sessions, whatever is on your mind. Together we can explore how your past might impact your feelings, thoughts and behaviours in the present.

I work in a safe, trauma-informed way and provide a welcoming space for all clients. I work with the neuro-diverse community and embrace difference and diversity in my practice.

As well as running a private practice, I practice in a service supporting people who have been affected by sexual abuse. I provide a safe space to help clients explore how their past trauma experiences affect their daily lives, helping them to gain an understanding of their feelings and behaviours. I have also provided support for survivors of domestic abuse.

Every person is unique and I therefore recognise the need to carefully tailor my work with the individual's needs, offering both short-term and long-term therapy.

I provide particular expertise in issues related to neurodiversity, childhood sexual abuse, sexual abuse and domestic abuse, anxiety, relationship and family issues, bereavement and any forms of loss, sexuality and gender issues, impact of retirement, stress, low self-esteem and many other issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
