About me

I am a counselling psychologist with several years’ experience of working in NHS mental health services with people with difficulties like anxiety, depression, panic disorder, relationship difficulties, phobias, chronic pain, obsessive negative thoughts or emotions and so on.

The aim of my therapeutic approach is to help you develop lasting and effective ways of coping with life challenges.

I am trained to work with three evidence based therapeutic approaches; Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy & action and commitment therapy (ACT). Research shows that CBT can be very effective at managing experiences anxiety, depression and coping with negative feelings. Psychodynamic therapy can be beneficial to dealing with relationship issues and be more aware of old patterns that may be unhelpful in the present. ACT teaches mindfulness/ acceptance skills to help individuals live and behave in ways consistent with personal values while developing psychological flexibility. Research evidence shows that it is effective in managing all kinds of mental, emotional and physical problems. If you would like to know more about these approaches please see my website or email me. My style of working also incorporates mindfulness-based bodywork which can be important for effective change at both body and mind level.

I am a chartered psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Profession Council (HCPC) which means that I am trained to the highest possible standard.

I offer therapy face to face as well as on Skype. Please give me a call for a free 10 - 15 minutes conversation about how therapy may be able to help you manage your difficulties in an effective way.

You can also text or email me for further information.
