About me
Hi. A warm welcome to my page. I am an empathic and compassionate counsellor. My aim is to make space for all of you, including the struggles, the fears, and the joys. I offer a relationship based on acceptance and authenticity, where you can explore areas of your life at a pace that is right for you. Feeling deeply understood can help us to find an accepting relationship with ourselves, where we are able to trust our wisdom and connect with our potential.
The Person-Centred Approach recognises we are all nuanced and understandable. Exploring your struggles with curiosity and acceptance can bring great insight and understanding. Time and time again I see clients gaining trust and confidence in themselves, and through this finding the change they need
It can be rare to have a place where we feel safe enough to share our inner world and the counselling relationship needs to feel right. If you would like to have an initial chat to see how we might work together I would welcome a call from you.
I am committed to working inclusively I want you to feel able to share your own experience of difference and discrimination and to feel heard and empowered.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and am committed to their ethical framework. I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling from Haulm, who specialise in the Person-Centred Approach, and also have the Certificate of Proficiency from the BACP.
I have over 20 years experience as a group facilitator within the public sector and worked as a Wellbeing Mentor at Varndean College for over 10 years.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a volunteer counsellor for 'As You Are', a small charity providing low cost to counselling to people in the local area.
I am continually working to develop myself as a person and as counsellor and to fulfil my ethical obligation to work responsibly with my clients. I have undergone training in areas such as sexual abuse, domestic violence and attachment.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
