About me
Whatever has motivated you to seek therapy, I can offer you a confidential space in which to explore your feelings, thoughts, relationships and sense of self.
Whether you are processing loss, feeling low, or like you have lost your way, then therapy can help. I aim to enable clients to talk about feelings and experiences that can't easily be shared and explored with others. With empathy and non-judgement, I offer clients a safe space where difficult and complex feelings can be expressed, heard, named and acknowledged.
We will consider past experiences and relationships; how they have shaped you; and how they influence your feelings, actions, and motivations in the present. Through collaborative working, you will gain a better understanding of yourself - your feelings and your relationships - which, in turn will facilitate personal growth and change.
Training, qualifications & experience
My early counselling studies complemented my work as a teacher in secondary schools for two decades. Then, following experiences of travelling and motherhood, I retrained as a psychodynamic counsellor and established my own private practice.
I completed my studies at Human Development Scotland in Glasgow, and I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Relations and Counselling awarded by Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
Alongside my private practice, I work for Therapeutic Services at Four Square - a homeless charity in Edinburgh. Since November 2024, I have worked as a psychotherapist at PMH Borders (Perinatal Mental Health) in Galashiels with parents who have experienced mental health difficulties through pregnancy, childbirth and/or postpartum.
I am currently studying towards an MSc in Psychoanalytic Observation Therapeutic Work with Infants and Young People, on an NES-funded place with Human Development Scotland and Strathclyde University.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
