About me
My core practice is in empathic listening, offering a space for deepening your understanding of yourself. With an understanding of the underlying patterns and causes which are affecting your feelings, moods and behaviours comes a growing ability to have insight into your real needs and make the changes which will help you to have healthier life patterns.
Sometimes it is helpful to include the body while deepening our understanding of the self. This is done through somatic awareness, gesture, visualisation and sound.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

The trainings I have been through and how they inform my practice:
My foundational training is in Psychophonetics Counselling, which is an embodied approach of empathic listening and transformational coaching with the client. This methodology uses physical gesture (gesturing through hands or whole bodies how the experience feels), sound resonance (finding a sound which resonates with the experience, which ‘feels right’) and visualisation - to see beyond the physical into the energy which shapes the experience. This training taught me that within every emotional wound is the intelligence of the healing which is needed and how to resource this healing. It taught me to trust in the power of the human heart to heal from even the deepest hurts. It taught me to hold space with love, courage and awareness of the inner direction and impulse of my client.

Play and Creative Arts Counselling for Children and Young People - I have since expanded my practice to include children and young people and I did this through the Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy on a course called Creative Counselling for CYP. This has given me a creative language to work with all age groups, using music or sound (generally percussive instruments), art, movement or dance, visualisation, storytelling and play. This training taught me how to adapt my way of working to meet children and young people, through play and creativity. It taught me to touch a little more lightly with less direction, with more awareness of the ever changing moment to moment connectivity between myself and my client.

Love and Authenticity Coaching - I have recently adapted my practice to working online and for this, this therapeutic coaching course has been very helpful in giving me tools to move quickly with a client to find the underlying root beliefs which affect the patterning of their life, so that new beliefs and patterns can be created, ones which are in alignment with their authenticity. Through this training, I was reminded of the power of authentic connection, with oneself and with another. It reminded me to stay connected to my own alignment and to maintain a loving vibration within my sessions. This training reminded me that within this moment and the connection we hold with one another there is always guidance and loving direction waiting to be brought into being.
