About me

Hi, I’m Louise and I help adults and young adults (16+) with anxiety, depression, low self worth, confidence and feelings of being overwhelmed enabling them to build resilience and a healthy mental outlook to cope with life’s day to day challenges.

I am a friendly and empathetic listener and I support people to build and maintain healthy mental health.

With life being so busy, I believe it is easy to lose connection with ourselves and feel overwhelmed and anxious. Self esteem and confidence can be lost making the smallest of day to day challenges feel impossible.

I offer a space of safety and compassion where we can explore your emotions working to connect with yourself and others again. A space you can feel heard in and begin to remember what it feels like to just be you, without outside pressures and labels.

Learning about yourself in therapy can help to develop self awareness, having this understanding of ourselves of how and why we feel things helps us build our resilience. Whilst strength is often talked about, it’s resilience that helps us cope with day to day challenges and prevents feelings of being overwhelmed.

Developing a well-being plan we can take a holistic look at what you and your mental health needs, supporting you in your mental health so you wont have to manage alone.

If you are wondering if therapy is the right route for you then call or email me now, I am happy to talk through how I work and how therapy can be such a valuable part of our self care routine. Take some support and make positive changes in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a FdSc in Counselling, Distinction level from The University of Greenwich.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Therapists adhering to their ethical framework.

I have worked as a volunteer therapist at Kingstons Womens Centre since early 2021 offering long term therapy.

I have a private practice called Try Talking in Weybridge and Guildford and online which I would be happy to tell you more about on a free introduction call.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

My room in Locker27 is wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately my rooms at The Practice are not accessible.
