About me
Starting therapy can feel daunting, and it often takes courage to reach out. I provide a safe, reflective, and empathic space where you can feel heard and understood without judgment. My aim is to help you explore and understand yourself more fully, making sense of the ways of being that might be causing you pain and keeping you feeling stuck.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I have extensive training across a range of psychological approaches, and I specialise in depth-oriented therapies, particularly psychodynamic psychotherapy and Mentalisation-Based Therapy (MBT), which I offer on both short- and long-term bases.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy offers a way of exploring the underlying obstacles to moving forward in life that may not always be accessible to conscious thinking. In practice, I work with you to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in an open dialogue, helping you notice recurring patterns in how you relate to yourself and others, including how these patterns appear in the therapy relationship itself.
Exploring how these patterns may have developed through past experiences, and how they continue to influence your relationships, work, and sense of self today, can help relieve distress and help you break free from repeating negative cycles. Processing the unconscious impact of past experiences can open up the possibility of real and lasting change. Psychodynamic therapy is particularly helpful for people experiencing long-standing emotional difficulties, relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, bereavement and complex trauma.
I am also accredited in MBT, which is especially helpful if for those who experience intense emotions in relationships or find it difficult to feel secure with others. MBT focuses on strengthening your ability to make sense of your own thoughts and feelings, and those of others, helping you regulate emotions and supporting healthier attachments and more stable ways of relating.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist (BPsy, DClinPsy) and a British Psychoanalytic Council-accredited MBT practitioner, with many years of experience in specialist mental health services. I currently work as a senior clinician in a secondary care NHS service, providing long-term psychotherapy for individuals experiencing complex and enduring issues, including depression, anxiety, emotion-regulation problems, relationship difficulties, complex trauma, and personality-related concerns. My work draws on extensive clinical experience and advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and MBT, allowing me to provide therapy that is thoughtful, attuned, and responsive to each person’s individual needs.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
