About me

I've always been deeply fascinated by the intricate worlds within each of us. This passion drove me to pursue an international journey in clinical and health psychology, gaining rich experience across Spain, Chile, and the United Kingdom. Today, I bring 14 years of clinical expertise, offering a compassionate and tailored approach to therapy.

Personalised Therapy for Diverse Needs: I believe in the power of understanding each person's unique story. My approach to therapy is personalised, combining various modalities to suit your specific needs and goals. Whether you're navigating personal challenges, relationship dynamics, or seeking deeper self-awareness, I'm here to create a supportive space where you can thrive. I value humour and a balanced challenge, aiming to guide you past feelings of being stuck towards a path of growth and discovery.

Cultural Sensitivity and Language Proficiency: My international experience has enhanced my cultural sensitivity, understanding individuals from an intersectional point of view. I offer therapy sessions in both English and Spanish, embracing clients from diverse backgrounds with empathy and understanding.

Specialisation in LGBTQI+ Well-being: My commitment extends particularly to the well-being of LGBTQI+ individuals. With a foundation of books and articles I've authored in this field, I specialise in addressing issues unique to the LGBTQI+ community. I'm proud to be a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), serving on the Committee of the BPS' Section of Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity. My affiliations include:

Registered Clinical Supervisor (RAPPS BPS)
Member of the British Association of Gender Specialists
Member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health

A Wealth of Experience Across Various Fields: My work has spanned a wide array of settings, including community projects in poverty-stricken areas, domestic violence, neonatal and paediatric oncology, adult cardiology, CAMHS, refugee services, psychiatric inpatient care, digital health, and gender identity services. This diverse experience reinforces my capacity to meet you wherever you are in your journey.

Invitation to Connect: If you're seeking a guide to help you understand yourself better and navigate life's challenges with a blend of support, challenge, and humour, I'm here for you. Reach out to begin our journey together.

HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am a UK-practicing consultant clinical psychologist specialising in supporting trans and non-binary individuals through therapy and assessment. At this point in my career I have supported over 600 gender-diverse clients, as well as loved ones. I have been actively involved in raising awareness by providing supervision and training to mental healthcare professionals. I recently co-authored 'Gender Affirming Therapy: A Guide to What Transgender and Non-Binary Clients Can Teach Us’, published by the Open University Press. Following on the work that we have completed with the book, I have co-founded Affirm (www.affirm.lgbt), an online training platform aimed at educating healthcare professionals on ways to support the trans communities. Our primary goal is to raise awareness and enable more healthcare professionals to provide competent and sensitive care to trans individuals, ultimately leading to better healthcare outcomes.
