About me
Taking the first steps to reach out for support for your emotional wellbeing can be both anxiety provoking and confusing. There are many different types of therapists, providing a variety of different therapies with different areas of expertise.
To assist you in your search here is a little about me:
I am a Clinical Psychologist, having qualifying in 2010. This means I am trained to a doctorate level. I am experienced in integrating various psychological therapies found to be effective in helping people experiencing distress or just wanting to do some work on themselves. I primarily integrate aspects of Schema Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I work soley online with people in the UK, Ireland and further afield. This way of working allows me to meet both my needs as a professional and human being, whilst also meeting those of my clients who find this way of working best suits their particular circumstances.
Research has shown the power of the relationship between therapist and client during the process of enabling someone to meet their therapeutic goals. Who I am in this regard is more difficult to describe, which is why I like to offer a FREE initial 15 telephone consult when requested. Briefly, the most important thing to me is to provide a therapeutic space were you can bring your whole self, where you feel able to talk openly and feel safe in allowing yourself to experience any emotions that might emerge during our work. We will work together in thinking through what it is you would like to get from therapy and how we might help you go about getting there.
I have a particular interest in working with people whose childhood was less than ideal, helping them to understand how their current difficulties, whatever they might be, are linked to this and how they can nurture themselves as adults in a way that perhaps was not available to them when they were younger.
Please do get in touch if you think I can help.
