About me
You've taken the first step...
When reaching out for counselling, for many people it can be an anxious time. My role is to help you through this process. My Name is Kerry I am a qualified, registered integrative counsellor and supervisor. Since becoming a counsellor in 2016 I have worked with a variety of people from all walks of life, presenting with a wide range of issues. I use a variety of approaches within the humanistic approach to meet your individual needs. I truly believe that connection within the counselling relationship is key for any progress to take place, which is why I provide a non Judgemental, safe and empathetic environment.
How I work.....
I work from a client led perspective meaning, I follow your lead, at your own pace. As your counsellor I will offer specific approaches depending on the issues you to to discuss, such as psychodynamic, CBT, transitional analysis, gestalt and person centred. Each approach has a unique way of exploring presenting issues that may be helpful in supporting our work together.
My background....
A little background about me, over the years I have worked as a counsellor within secondary schools supporting young people. I now work in private practice, where I support both young people and adults. I have a special place in my heart for neurodiversity. I have worked to support many clients within this area to gain a deeper understanding of themselves. I aim to provide an approach that fits you best as an individual. I have experience in different mental health roles, which I believe supports my role as a counsellor and supervisor.
I truly believe that with the right support and tools in place, each person has the ability to reach their full potential. The first step to progress is taking the step to reach out. You're here reading this which means you've already ticked that box.
What to expect...
During the first meeting we will take the time to get to know one another and decide if we would like to proceed in working together. Building a relationship for some may take time and that's absolutely fine. We will have check-ins during our time together to see how the work is going and have a chance to reflect.
I provide open ended sessions meaning, you can choose when it's suitable for you to end the counselling process. Together we will then work towards an ending. If you feel I might be the right counsellor for you, please reach out to discuss an initial meeting with me. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
