About me

The relationship between client and counsellor is essential for therapy to be beneficial. Feeling at ease and fully accepted is of utmost importance, I feel that clients are comfortable around me due to my genuine warm and compassionate nature. No topics are off limits, I will only ever seek to understand the depth of who you are as a person and what led you to the situations and events within your lifetime from a place of non-judgement, caring and full acceptance. We all deserve to feel  accepted and loved for who we are regardless of life-events that lead us to believe otherwise.

Our lives are filled with challenges and these can at times be difficult to navigate through. Sadly, suffering is a part of existence and without it we would not truly grasp the depth of what is important to us as individuals. Counselling can help unpick the feelings associated with this, their root, build knowledge of yourself whilst creating resilience for life's struggles making them less powerful overall. Acknowledging your pain and vulnerability aids in healing whilst promoting resilience for the future. You will never truly be free of difficult circumstances but you can learn to ride these waves with more ease and a higher level of self-awareness.

Some background information on myself:

My ethos in life has been heavily shaped by growing up in Indonesia before moving to Europe in my teens. The lens through which I see the world including my perspective on life originated from a multicultural foundation both from my family system and life experiences along the way. Throughout this time I have had my fair share of struggles and wholeheartedly understand the difficulties in facing your demons - it isn't easy, it takes a lot of courage and determination to make peace with and overcome elements from the past, as well as taking responsibility for aspects of yourself that feel shameful. The process is not linear and areas that need addressing are guaranteed to pop up throughout your lifetime. Counselling is an excellent tool for creating a strong foundation enabling you to weather the storms of life with confidence.

If you're interested in discussing your needs for counselling please get in touch for a free intake session. There is absolutely no obligation to continue further should you feel I am not the right counsellor for yourself. Connection whilst feeling at ease is integral to a positive and successful outcome, it is essential that you find the right person for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
