About me

Welcome to my profile. My name is Jon. I am a qualified and experienced Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Supervisor and a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP). My private practice is based at Beauchamp Counselling Centre as well as from my home counselling room, a short drive away in Kibworth Beauchamp. Both are ideally located just off the A6 between Market Harborough & Leicester.

Whether you are struggling with unpleasant feelings linked to stress, depression, anxiety or low self-esteem, or you are seeking support to improve relationships, understand family dynamics, heal from abuse or trauma, or find new meaning in life, I offer you the chance to reflect on the difficulties you are experiencing with someone from outside of your day-to-day life.

I believe each person and each path taken is truly unique, as people’s choices are influenced by their experiences and environment. I am passionate about my work and believe therapy can help you to understand yourself and the path you have taken. Through talking together, in confidence, I can help you to work through your difficulties, including deep-rooted beliefs and life experiences, actively engaging with you so that you feel heard, understood and valued.  Through working together, I can help you to create the opportunity for positive change and growth, leading to greater understanding of yourself, fresh perspectives and a happier, healthier you.

Getting Started

If you would like to see me specifically, please indicate this and we can discuss your requirements, my availability and fees, and I can answer any questions you may have.

If you would like to see another therapist at Beauchamp Counselling Centre or you are not sure who is best to see, then please get in touch and we can help you to decide, based on your needs.

You can read more about me and our associate therapists at www.beauchampcounselling.co.uk

The therapeutic relationship is fundamental in the counselling process, and it is essential that you, as the client, feel that you connect with your therapist. I therefore offer an assessment session in which we can discuss a little more about why you are seeking therapy, as well as giving you the opportunity to know more about me and how I work as a therapist.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy on an open-ended basis or for an agreed period of time, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life, living it more authentically and reaching your potential.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Areas of counselling I deal with

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am passionate about creative therapy and can weave creative work into individual therapy sessions where appropriate or I can offer specific creative therapy sessions, whether individual or group.

Creative sessions can help individuals to find a means of self-expression beyond verbal communication. This one to one therapy offers a safe space for individuals to explore and express complex or difficult emotions through different artistic mediums. Creative therapy aids in processing traumatic experiences, promotes insight and self-discovery and provides a sense of empowerment and control.
