MBACP Integrative Counsellor.

About me

As a fully qualified BACP counsellor I am here to help and support you through whatever it is that is stopping you from getting the most out of life. Feelings of anger, guilt and shame can hold us back. I run a successful private practice for adults and teenagers.

I understand how hard it is to reach out for help and find the right person to understand you. People come to me with feelings of overwhelm, stress, anxiety, depression, persistent worry and overthinking, family issues, relationship issues, gender identity, low self esteem, compulsions and feelings of being stuck. Maybe you're not sure what's wrong but would like a safe space to explore making some changes and moving forward. I aim to understand what life looks like from your point of view, to help you feel heard and understood.

I have a natural and approachable manner and through having counselling myself know once you have found the right person how much counselling can help.

I am BACP qualified and have a number of years of experience in counselling previously having worked in education for over 20 years. Offering a warm, confidential safe place to talk through your difficulties. Everything is guided by you, because after all you are the expert on yourself.

I know how difficult it is to make the first move and talk to someone about things you may not have ever voiced before. As a full member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I adhere to its ethical code. Which means I work openly and honestly, without judgement to see the world through your eyes.

Training, qualifications & experience

Working for many years with teenagers in an educational setting has given me a deep understanding of demands put on young people effecting their confidence and self-esteem.

Working with neurodivergent clients has strengthened my belief of how individual we all are. Each client is unique and in the right conditions, we all have the capacity for personal growth and self-awareness.

I currently work for a charity supporting victims of serious crime, domestic and sexual abuse.

I regularly attend workshops and training to stay updated on the latest research and advancements in counselling.

Some recent CPD/Training

  •  Understanding childhood trauma
  •  Stalking
  •  Breathwork for Chronic Stress and Trauma recovery
  • Healing from Developmental Trauma

* Where Psychodynamic, Neuroscience and Person-Centred meet.

  •  Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
