About me

Hi, my name is Jessica. Welcome to my profile. I am a professionally qualified person-centred therapist and a registered member of the BACP. I hold professional indemnity insurance and a current DBS certificate.

I recognise that deciding to embark on counselling can be a difficult and daunting decision. My aim is to offer a confidential space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels right for you. I pride myself on my ability to build open, deep and trusting relationships with my clients and I tailor my work towards my client’s needs to bring about the best working relationship.

I work within a wide range of areas including depression, anxiety, stress, anger management, low self-esteem, and self-confidence to name but a few. I work with adults of all ages and I have extensive experience working with adolescents and vulnerable young people. In addition to working with clients who self-refer, I also receive referrals from other professionals.

I am passionate about the work I do and believe that individuals have the capacity to create fundamental change in their lives. Counselling gives you the opportunity to resolve conflict, process trauma and develop the tools you need to help you manage or overcome your difficulties.

I offer face to face and online therapy which can be short-, medium- or long-term dependent on the individual needs of the client. I also offer a free initial no obligation assessment. I will always aim to be flexible with appointment times. You will find me to be empathic, fair, trustworthy, and honest. I value each client and their uniqueness and look forward to meeting and working with you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
