My Approach

As an experienced professional Integrative Counsellor I utilise a combination of approaches to provide bespoke therapeutic solutions drawn from the Psychodynamic, Solution Focused and Person Centred Approaches.

Together, each client and I work together to identify the therapeutic techniques that are best suited to their individual style and needs. We then use these techniques to explore and understand their personal circumstance finding routes to resolutions that enable them to move towards their personal goals.

Why Seek Help?

There are many reasons why someone might seek counselling; emotional difficulties and fluctuating mental health affects us all. Life can leave us feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and sometimes lost. Persistent difficult thoughts and feelings can often get in the way of achieving what matters most or living life the way we would like. Therapy can help by providing a safe and supportive environment that encourages personal growth and development. A space to reconnect with our personal values and recognise what might be causing our difficulties.

Experience & Background

I have worked within a variety of settings including the National Health Service, Third sector organisations and Private practice. BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Free Initial Assessment

The assessment process itself is conversational usually takes about 20 minutes and is a chance for both of us to make a mutual assessment of each other, to ask questions so we are able to make an informed decision about our ability to work together. It's a chance to see if my therapy methods and personality are a match to what you are looking for in a therapist. It's also a chance to discuss the focus or goals for therapy and what may be achievable through the counselling work. There will also be a conversation about what to expect, costs and time commitments.
