About me

As a creative psychotherapist, I offer a safe space for you to bring any challenges or difficulties that you may be facing as well as anything you would like to celebrate.

Do you ever find yourself not having the words to talk about such challenges, strong emotions or experiences? If yes then this is where dramatherapy can offer an alternative way of exploring. Such as through story, movement, small object work, art, play and mindfulness.

However, talking therapy can also be used. Especially when you need someone to truly listen and hold what is causing you distress, without judgement. Offering a psychodynamic approach which has the understanding that our actions in the present can be based on unconscious processes, often formed in our early childhood.

Most of our experiences of the world are formed within relationships during early childhood which act as our blueprint to future relationships. Therefore within therapy, I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of therapy- offering an initial telephone or video call to establish if I am the right therapist for you is a beneficial part of this process. We can then work in a reparative way.

My hope is that we can create a trusting therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood and cared for whilst being able to accept and acknowledge reflections made. In order to develop self-awareness, feel more secure in your self, work through any challenges and integrate things you have learnt about yourself or tools that you have found helpful, into your life outside of therapy.

I meet each client at the point they are at and work alongside you. Moving at your pace and using models and modalities that suit your needs.

Training, qualifications & experience

Master of Arts - Dramatherapy (HCPC Registration) As part of the HCPC registration I continue to meet the required standards of practice such as accessing my own personal therapy, supervision and continued professional development.

Whilst I work with both adults and children I have 12 years of experience working with children and young people within schools and specialist schools. Specialising in early developmental trauma and attachment. Offering staff training in education and beyond on trauma informed practice.

Recently working with and delivering self-care workshops for people experiencing infertility and loss.

I am also a qualified clinical supervisor- providing clinical supervision for clinicians and reflective practice groups for a broad range of professionals and staff, as well as offering training and workshops on the importance of supervision, what it is and what it can offer for professionals.
