About me

Do you want a safe place to talk and share, I can provide a warm, confidential, nonjudgmental time just for you. I believe the individual has the ability in the right environment to be instrumental to change. My aim is provide the conditions for you to be able to change and become more accepting of you - because you are good enough.

I believe every person is unique, I embrace the individuality before me and the multitude of issues and possibilities that present themselves. I am happy to explore any issues, worries or anxiety.

Training, qualifications & experience

Hi,  I understand it is really difficult to seek help and choose the right Counsellor from an online profile.  Calling me to find out if you think we will fit may help you to make that decision.  I am compassionate, open, honest and have experienced many of life's struggles too.  There will be no hard sell, I want what is best for you.  I am a fully qualified, insured and professional integrative Counsellor. An integrative counsellor means that I have trained in various theoretical approaches to enable me to have the flexibility to use some or all of my training at any time. I have also trained for an extra year to offer C.B.T.

Loss, grief and bereavement touches everyone at some point in their lives and can be devastating.  I have been trained by Cruse Bereavement Organisation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am qualified at Level 5 in C.B.T., ( Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).  This empirical approach is approved by IAPT ( Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) backed by the government.  This theory understands that your thinking affects your emotions and behaviour.  We can work together to help you to uncover your Automatic Thoughts, Triggers that influence your behaviour.   I am also trained to help with couples communication to enable you to become more effective, and help your understanding of each other.
