About me

My name is Hayley and I am a fully qualified and insured psychotherapeutic counsellor. I  am an accredited member of the NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society) and registered member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), which means that I abide by their ethical frameworks and am accountable to them.

I work integratively, with a person-centred foundation. This means that beyond my core 4 year training primarily in person-centred therapy, I have spent further years training in several different psychotherapeutic models, as I don't believe in 'one size fits all' in therapy. Our therapy may involve elements of person-centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), SBFT (Solution-Focused Brief Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), TA (Transactional Analysis) Hypnotherapy, and more. I believe that therapy should be designed to fit around you as an individual, not the other way around.  Your feedback is always welcome. I believe that the relationship between my client and me is the most important aspect of therapy and I value your ability to make your own decisions. I always aim to offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings. I regularly attend further training and supervision.

I have lots of extra training and experience in working with issues related to pregnancy, fertility and childbirth. I have additional training in working with individuals with, or who suspect they may have ADHD.

I am based in Milton Keynes, where I offer a quiet, private space for face-to-face counselling sessions. I also offer online counselling that can be attended from the comfort of your own home.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
