About me

*Please check your junk/spam box when awaiting a response - thank you*

Having several years experience working with adults, children and young people, I can offer support to a wide age range from 13+.

Reaching out for support can be incredibly overwhelming and scary. It’s very important to me to try and make this as simple and accessible as possible.

I qualified as a counsellor in 2019 and have worked within mental health for over 5 years, in the charity and voluntary sector.

Removing barriers to counselling support is very close to my heart and I pride myself on being a down to earth practitioner.

Counselling can be helpful for a variety of different difficulties such as low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, loss and many more. Being able to talk these thoughts and feelings through in a confidential, safe and non-judgemental space can help to unburden, process and manage these issues. As well as looking at solution focussed practical methods, psychoeducation and coping techniques for challenging emotions.

I can encourage you to develop a deeper self-awareness and offer insight to improve understanding, in a way that empowers you to reach your full potential.

Client Testimonials:

'Hannah has been just amazing. She has created a space which is so non-judgemental and really allows you to explore everything about how you are feeling. Hannah really makes you feel safe and seen. She has genuinely helped me through the hardest time in my life and I am so grateful for her support and kindness.'

'I just want to say a massive thank you for helping me get through the hardest times in my life. You have helped me to stop self-harming which I thought I'd never do. You have helped me learn it’s okay not to be okay. I’ve become a totally different person. Thank you for being there when I needed someone to talk to.'

'It was very helpful, Hannah had the same morals as me and this was helpful and makes it easier to talk, it made me feel like I wasn’t crazy. This was much more helpful than any other therapy that I have had.'

'It has been helpful to talk to someone and finding out new skills. I feel like it has helped to open up rather than keeping things in my mind.'

'Actually, being able to speak with someone and not having to bottle everything up. This has helped me to feel refreshed and lighter.'

'I am more able to understand red flags in relationships and to protect my boundaries. I can calm myself down more when feeling worked up.'

'Talking about things that I couldn’t talk about with others and I didn’t feel like I was just whining or that I’d annoy the therapist. I’m always in a better mood when I leave.'

'It was easy to talk to Hannah. You were understanding and you’re more modern which helps because you could understand me better. I enjoyed our conversations, they helped me. You tried your hardest to understand me and I learned some new things. You gave me the freedom to be myself and you showed me respect.'

Parent feedback - 'I would like to thank you for all the amazing work you have done with (client), she is so much better than she was. It’s so wonderful to see the difference in her since she started with you. I am so thankful for all your help'

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
