About me

Hello,

I’m David, a fully qualified integrative counsellor. I’m here if you need a warm, safe, encouraging (and sometimes challenging) apple crumble of a space to talk or work through things.

I’m mostly person-centred with CBT edges, able to help you explore or work through your thoughts and feelings, as well as your behaviours or reactions, to help you find what you need and what you want – or perhaps what you want to do and where you want to go.

I’m able to adapt and respond to each individual person, following you and your needs.

It means a lot to me to try to keep my fees as truly affordable as I can. I believe counselling should be open and inclusive to everyone, and I want as many people as possible to be able to access and afford counselling when they need it. Please send me messages if you have any questions or worries, and we'll try to work out something.

I’m based in London, but I’m available remotely (telephones; Skype, Teams, Zoom; Whatsapp/text-based counselling) anywhere.

I’m able to do some face-to-face (though not right now!) and walking counselling in London.

I enjoy short-term, focussed counselling or more longer-term, open-ended ways of working together. Whatever you need!

Training, qualifications & experience

As well as working as a counsellor, I’ve also been a Samaritan for almost ten years, helping and supporting so many different people through a huge range of issues and stresses, and I currently work in suicide prevention at Mind, the mental health charity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
