About me

Hi, my name is Claire. I am a person centred Counsellor registered with the BACP. I have personal experience of how beneficial counselling can be, and appreciate how difficult it may be, to reach out and ask for help. I understand what it is like to be a client, and I aim to offer you a safe, confidential, non judgemental space, to explore any areas of your life that are causing you concern. By building a warm therapeutic relationship, we can work together on your journey, allowing you to gain insight, and perspective into your challenges in life, and overcome your personal barriers to achieve your goals. I will respect and value you and your decisions , will be open and genuine , so we can build a trusting relationship.  I have experience in other counselling areas including CBT, and sessions can be tailored to meet your needs. I can work therapeutically with a wide range of concerns and can assist you with any issues you may be facing such as, depression, trauma, anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues, addictions and many others.   Appointments can be arranged weekly , fortnightly or monthly , whatever best suits you. I appreciate it may be difficult to take that first step , but I promise I will be with you every step of the way.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
