About me

Your mental health matters, and it matters to me. I can help guide you towards processing and understanding your thoughts and feelings, as well as gaining self clarity to create authentic growth and change for yourself.

I have a wealth of experience working with Anxiety, Depression, Bereavement, Burnout, Addiction, Anger Management, Trauma, ADHD, Autism (Neurodivergent friendly), Stress, Resentment, Identity issues, LGBTQ+, relationship troubles and exploration (ENM/Poly) and I have supported many carers in my time as a counsellor. Having worked with a wide range of diverse clients, I understand the importance of having your identity, background, beliefs and culture acknowledged, which is why I welcome everyone and you will be seen and heard.

You will be met with a warm, supportive, non-judgemental ear, to help enable you to be yourself, share and express what it is that is weighing you down. I work in a Person-Centred way, meaning that I want to understand your perception and reality for what it is that you are experiencing without analysing you or pushing you in areas that you do not want to go. The safe and confidential sessions will be at your pace and I will help guide you and highlight patterns, which can help towards gaining self clarity and process what you share with me.

I understand the importance of having both a trusting and safe relationship so that sharing your problems with someone does not seem so hard. During our sessions, I would encourage you to be able to feel free to cry, sit in silence, shout, swear or whatever it is you need to feel lighter, I will be there and support you throughout your process.

I acknowledge that putting words to your feelings or experience can be difficult, even sometimes it feels impossible, which is why I also trained in an extensive CPCAB Creative Counselling Fellowship, so that I can help you find other ways of expressing yourself, if you so wish to work in this way.

I can offer mindfulness techniques that we can do together, which can also be a strategy that you can take away with you in between sessions, including: grounding, relaxation techniques and breathing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Person-Centred Counselling Degree, Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP and fully insured.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
