About me

I have been practising as an integrative counsellor since 2020. I found my way into therapeutic work through my passion for supporting people to become the best versions of themselves.

I am integratively trained, which means I employ both the person-centred and psychodynamic approaches in my work. The person centred aspect of my work encourages self-esteem and self-acceptance, whereas the Psychodynamic aspect of my work promotes looking at the unconscious, and how it may be impacting our thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Throughout my practise, I have found using these two modalities has helped clients to not only deal with issues from their past that are still impacting their everyday life, but also then encouraging self-growth and self-acceptance in themselves.

I understand that accessing therapy can be a really scary thing to do, the first step is usually the hardest, I am there to walk with you on your journey.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

I have experience of working with survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence and I am currently working in traumatic bereavement.

In each of these agencies, I have worked with people suffering with anxiety, depression and PTSD as well as trauma.

I provide a warm, accepting atmosphere and a place for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
