About me

Do you sometimes feel unheard or unseen? Are you struggling with the demands of daily life, feeling stressed and need a safe confidential space to talk to someone?

Using talk therapy, we can work together to unlock some of the feelings you have. If you don’t feel sure of how you feel, then we can take a step back and I can listen. I can help you to find space to breathe, to find your strength and the confidence to deal with whatever has brought you to counselling.

I understand that life can really change at a moment’s notice. Often, we feel capable one minute, but the next we are left feeling unsure, overwhelmed, confused, weighed down and not sure who to confide in.

Working as a Counsellor I work with adults only, am empathetic, calm, a good listener and I offer a space for you to talk about whatever you feel is most pressing. You may not feel as though you know where to start and that’s ok too. There’s no expectation on my part. It’s your space and your time to reflect, to talk through your concerns, emotions, feelings or to simply have a private conversation with someone who doesn’t know your friends or family and won’t judge. I will do my best to listen and understand you.

The therapy I offer is bespoke and tailored to your individual needs so there is no fixed number of sessions required. If you would like to explore counselling further, please email me to arrange a free, no obligation call. This call offers an opportunity to ensure that I am the right counsellor for you and that you are happy to go ahead. We will then arrange a 50 minute face to face or online consultation via zoom, to suit your needs. Fees are £60 per session.

Training, qualifications & experience

To help you make your decision about whether you want to work together, it may help you to know I have worked professionally in the private sector for 25 years in a HR and Careers capacity before I went back to university and studied Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have since been practicing as a Counsellor for three years. I have found the experience of working with people and supporting them over the years has helped to give me more of an insight into the variety of life pressures we all experience such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bereavement
  • Loss
  • Relationship problems
  • Family problems
  • Fertility problems
  • Menopause
  • Work/life balance
  • Change
  • Identity/difference
  • Money worries
  • Feeling overwhelmed with what life can throw at us.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
