About me

Reaching out and finding support can be a hard thing to do, especially if you are struggling. But, you have got this far, so, let me tell you a little bit about myself and what I can offer you….

I am a person-centred counsellor, which means I work in a way that puts you central to your therapy. You are the expert on you, and I will be the passenger on your journey as you explore the struggles that bring you to therapy. Everybody has the ability to find their own solutions, given time, space and trust, and that is what I can offer you, in a calm, quiet environment. We can sometimes feel that our problems are way too much to handle, feeling shame, guilt, hurt, afraid, lonely etc, or we can feel silly even worrying about some things, but for me, nothing is too small if it’s worrying you.

I have always worked in care. I started my career working with children with learning disabilities, neurodivergence and ASD within school. As my career progressed, I chose to work with adults with the same issues, as well as mental health issues. This move encouraged me to undertake a BA Hons Degree in Person-Centred Counselling, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I have had my own struggles in the past and believe this has giving me a good grounding to support others as I was supported.

If you are interested feel free to get in touch and we can go from there.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
