About me

I am a qualified therapist with experience with short-term therapy within the NHS and longer-term therapy in a private setting. In addition, I have worked in a psychiatry ward in Pakistan and with special needs children. With over 7 years of experience working in the childcare sector, I have developed a strong understanding of early year development and familial conflict, and the impact this can have on us into our adult life. My experience in both Pakistan and the United Kingdom allows me to understand related issues from a cross-cultural perspective. I have worked with a wide range of presenting issues including Trauma, OCD, Depression, anxiety, stress, psychosexual and identity issues and anger. Therapy can also be a space to learn about your thoughts and behaviours, and how to positively channel your energy and become emotionally independent.

Life can get complicated and stressful, and sometimes we can find ourselves lost and isolated. In those moments we need a safe and non-judgmental space to grow and reconnect to ourselves.  I believe these modern and fast life pressures are affecting most people. Counselling can help one become aware of emotional and physical abilities. The concept of self-healing has inspired me throughout my life journey. We all can overcome and heal from trauma if provided with a safe, non-judgmental and empathic relationship. A trustful and empathic Therapeutic relationship between the client and the counsellor can help you to heal and flourish. I support my clients by developing and maintaining healthy and honest relationships. I use an integrative approach with person-centred, Gestalt, and CBT elements to cater to the unique needs of my clients.  Therapy with me will honour and heal your past experiences, and help you to better cope with the present.

I offer therapy in English and Urdu.

The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
