About me

I am a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist providing therapy for adults, adolescents and children in West Sussex both as a Specialist Therapist within NHS CAMHS and through my private practice.. I work using a combination of talking therapy, EMDR and Art Psychotherapy depending on what feels right for the client at the time.

Many people I work with come to therapy having experienced difficult life events or are finding themselves struggling internally which is not only isolating and very difficult to manage but is often impacting the lives they have worked so hard to build. My role as a therapist is to support you through shared thinking, navigating challenges together and enabling you to feel safe, heard and free to express what might be going on.

Often people can approach Art Therapy with an assumption that artwork must be created in each session which can feel a daunting and intimidating prospect. However, there are no set expectations other than building a therapeutic relationship and navigating your challenges together.

I am registered with the HCPC and BAAT.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Masters Degree in Art Psychotherapy and am additionally trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including EMDR (eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing), Sensorimotor therapy and DBT to name a few.

I have a great deal of experience working with individuals who have been exposed to trauma in their past, which in turn manifests in a felt separateness from others and complex emotional responses to the world around them. I have specific experience working with children who have experienced neglect or abuse, along with adult survivors. I also have experience of working with children and adults with Autism and ADHD.

Over the past 10 years, I have worked within the private and public sectors with adults, young people and children. Such settings include community based clinics, schools, social services, hospitals, forensic settings and supported housing/ placements. In the past 5 years, I have also provided Clinical Supervision to fellow psychotherapists, trainees, as well as Reflective Practice to mental health teams.
