How I can help you
There are times in life when we are faced with difficulties or problems that we cannot manage on our own.
In my experience, many clients at some point in their life find life a struggle, feel stuck or are experiencing a distressing situation which can leave them feeling overwhelmed and hard to cope. Talking can help you to deal with unwanted or confusing feelings. The counselling relationship is one where the attention is on you, giving you the opportunity to talk about yourself with a professional who is trained to listen skilfully in order to help you explore your feelings and attitudes which may be contributing to your distress.
Sometimes it can be difficult to talk to family or friends about how we are feeling and it can be easier to talk in confidence to a professional who is neutral and non-judgemental. I can help you explore any emotional, personal, sexual or relationship issues at my private practice in Bexley.
I see the aim of counselling as being to help you feel more in control of your life and allow you to live in a way that is more satisfying and productive.
I work in an intuitive, collaborative and integrative way, which is client, led. This allows us to work together and at a pace to suit your needs and issues. My aim is to help you understand what may be going on in your life, look at what you might like to change and empower you to do so. This will allow you to be free of any burdens that you originally came into counselling to address.
I will not judge you or advise you, I will listen to you in a comfortable and confidential environment.
Talking with a qualified and experienced counsellor can help you;
. feel heard and understood
. release bottled up feelings
. explore choices and solutions
. feel better about yourself
Couples counselling can be a useful and safe way to work on the issues that you are having as a couple without the fear of being judged or belittled by each other or your counsellor.
Apart from the training and experience I have I have also had personal experience of therapy and how it can help you to overcome difficulties in your life.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
