About me

I have a wide range of experiences and I didn't come into this through a conventional route. I’ve lived in many parts of the world and up until recently I have been constantly on the go.

My careers have spanned from investments, banking, and running night clubs in Spain, I then worked for a children's hospice. Having reached a point that I needed to make some changes, and with the heady days of Spain behind me, I went to counselling and knew I had finally landed.

This was the first time I felt understood and with my feet firmly grounded, my new journey began….

How I work

The counselling relationship is at the heart of my work, therefore my focus is to create a warm, trusting and safe environment. Together we can explore what is happening for you and begin working through the process, avoiding  judgement or dismissal. Perhaps you are experiencing anxiety, depression, low mood, low self esteem, abuse or need to process grief, difficult/overwhelming feelings, relationship issues. Maybe you would like to make some life changes and need to gain some clarity and confidence in what you are doing and where you are going. Whatever has led you to this point,  I’m here to do the journey with you.

I work with adults face to face on a short or long term basis.

I offer a full 50 minute (Standard counselling hour) session at a reduced rate for the initial consultation. This gives us the time and space to see if we are well suited. It is important for us to feel comfortable. If we continue together, we can meet on a weekly or fortnightly basis.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
