Thanking for taking your time to read about my profile.

I have a proven track record and have gained over 26years’ experience dealing with children, young people and adults with learning/behavioral difficulties, physical/emotional/sexual abuse or previous history of substance misuse, autism and trauma. These have been in several different settings, such as: schools, residential care homes, foster homes, security units, NHS hospitals, together with Local Authorities (Councils), privately clinic and throughout my jobs career – paid and as a volunteer. These decades of clinical work have been on the format of: individual, couple, group, family therapy sessions – face to face and online. I am bilingual and have been offering therapy sessions throughout these time in both languages: English and Portuguese. I have extensive knowledge about the Humanistic and Systemic approach and I am comfortable in using other modalities, as such: 12 Steps, DBT, CBT, Psychodynamic, Trauma based interventions.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
