About me

Are you feeling overwelmed with feelings of depression and anxiety?

Are you seeking clarity in order to take back control of your life?

I’m an experienced, warm and down-to-earth therapist who offers a place for you to talk in confidence about the issues or problems that might be affecting you. Whatever difficulties you are experiencing, I can give you the support and tools you need to move forward to positive change.

I work in an integrated way which allows me to use a mixture of therapeutic tools and approaches. These include; person centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and psychodynamic therapy. This means I can tailor how we work together to suit you as an individual and your needs. I put the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the counselling process and you will feel safe and supported in our sessions.

I have many years of professional experience, working with both adults and young people with a diverse range of issues, helping them to process and overcome their difficulties. This includes being a trauma therapist for women comeing through the criminal justice system and prisons . I also have extensive training in PTSD and flashbacks.

Through counselling, many people experience changes in perspective, more satisfying relationships, increased fulfilment and deeper self-awareness. I have been privileged to share these life-changing moments with individuals through their counselling journey.

I offer a genuine and empathic relationship where you can talk openly about your thoughts and feelings without judgement. Thank you for looking at my profile. I know that reaching out for help is a big step and that searching for a counsellor can be a challenge. If you think I can help please contact me for a free initial consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
