About me
I am a Qualified and Experienced Counsellor and have been Accredited with BACP since 2000. I have a Counselling Diploma in Integrative Psychosynthesis and an MA in Mindfulness Psychotherapy Practice with the Karuna Institute (Core Process) in Devon.
Sometimes life’s demands and problems can feel overwhelming!!
Perhaps you wake with a sense of dread! Maybe you feel that life hasn't turned out how you had hoped… Are you're having a hard time at work or at home? Perhaps you find yourself repeating those same old patterns in relationship. Maybe you are caught in a cycle of addiction. Do you have angry outbursts or withdraw inside yourself? You may feel lonely and isolated, or are burdened with shyness.
I offer a safe supportive and contained space where you can bring what it is you find difficult. Being heard and welcomed for who you are can bring huge relief and help you to discover that what may appear as hopeless can also be a call from a deeper part of yourself.
I work holistically through an in depth mindful approach that brings awareness to the stories, thoughts and feelings you may have about yourself. Also just as importantly I can work with with you on how that is held defensively in the body. With the release of shock and trauma and a defensive contracted way of being in the world there is a movement toward expansion relaxation openness fluidity and expression.
Counselling and psychotherapy can offer a safe harbour where you can explore what is troubling you and holds you back from living your life more fully.

The aim of soul work is not adjustment to accepted norms or a statistical framework. The goal is a richly elaborated life connected to society and nature. The idea is not to be superficially adjusted, but to be profoundly connected in the heart."

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
