So you may have tried managing by yourself or talking to friend but....
Whilst Self Help is where most people start , it doesn't address what subtley stops us from making change in our lives. This is where Therapy can help. Life as we currently live it may be holding us back, but we cannot see where the blocks are. We are limited to what we can achieve on our own , Counselling and Psychotherapy places therapeutic relationship at the centre of change.
Other issues that I can help with....
- Experiencing Panic
- Life losing it's sense of purpose
- Lonely and isolated
- Generally unhappy
- Feeling overwhelmed
- Stressed at work or fear redundancy or unemployment
- Suffering from grief or loss
- Looking for more fulfilment in life
- Coping with change
- Wanting to come to terms with painful experiences from the past
Most people who experience counselling and therapy find it beneficial. There is a unique benefit in talking to someone independent to you.
Emotions and feelings get frozen and in a sense "locked in a box" - we dare not open the box and may use all sorts of damaging coping mechanisms. We may resort to addictions, self soothers, alcohol, smoking, relationships may flounder or we simply do not understand what is happening to us, hence we may get angry and frustrated.
Is therapy for you?
We begin with an initial assessment to see if you feel counselling is for you.
This session is a mutual fact find and is a good way of getting a feel of how counselling and therapy works. It allows you to meet me and see if you wish to continue the work

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
