About me

 Hello and welcome!

I know from my own therapeutic journey that finding the right person to work with when we want to bring change to our lives can be difficult.  I hope that from the bite-sized pieces of information about me, written here, my ethics and how I work, you are able to get a flavour of whether you may want to work with me.

My understanding of humanity is that we are all uniquely shaped by our life experiences and the connections we’ve had along our life path.

It is from this understanding that I aim to build each of my psychotherapeutic relationships with trust, safety, and genuine connection.  Whether we meet online,  personally in my therapy room based in Brompton on Swale or through local walk-and-talk sessions.  I will hold a supportive, confidential, and compassionate space for you as together we explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.  My way of being with others offers not just a secure relationship, but also practical tools to help you move forward with any changes you wish to make in your life.

My initial training was in Transactional Analysis (TA, level 7), a psychotherapeutic approach that helps us understand how our past experiences shape who we are today. It also offers us the opportunity to choose to make meaningful changes in how we relate to ourselves and others.  Alongside TA, I continue to develop my skills in other therapeutic modalities, ensuring that the support I offer is shaped around your unique needs and goals.

If something within my profile connects with you, I invite you to reach out in whatever way feels most comfortable, whether by text, email, or phone. If you call and reach my voicemail, I encourage you to leave a message (it’s easy to forget to say your number, so do include that!). Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you’re not alone. I’m here to support you.

I look forward to connecting with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

My experience of working with people in many life situations is vast and varied,  yet the one constant is that with each person with whom I meet, their needs and their stories are central in what happens in our relationship.

I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, having trained and qualified to level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy (TA), graduating in 2007 from Leeds Beckett University.  I am also an Anglican Priest.   My commitment to ongoing Continuing Personal Development (CPD) and regular supervision helps me keep up to date and bring new approaches to my work..

I keep my level three safeguarding up to date and have Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS) Level 3 certificate, and am a registered member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society, adhering to their Code of Ethics. I am fully insured to practice and am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICA) who ensure my GDPR is congruent with the standards expected.

You may find a full list of my qualifications on my website which can be accessed at:  https://www.thelifepath.co.uk

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
