About me
I hope the information below with help you to see who I am and how I work, if you want to know more just click on my website where you will find more information along with some helpful blogs and videos: https://www.thelifepath.co.uk
I continue to work on line, offering both individual and couples counselling using Zoom or Microsoft Teams. I also offer Walk and Talk sessions in the local area and work in person with Groups, companies and Churches at a venue we agree on.
I have a deep interest and much experience in working with anxiety and trauma, my experience and skills also enable me to work with those who are grieving, do remember grief can be about any loss, whether that is experiencing the death of someone who has an impact on our lives, the loss of friendships, relationships, work, from moving house, divorce and many other reasons. I also work with many other presentations, including those experiencing work life balance, ill health, retirement, disability, low mood, feeling that you are stuck, relational difficulties and many other areas of the human condition.
I work in a relational, non judgemental, open and integrative way, thereby giving us the best chance to build and trust in our developing relationship. I offer a safe, empathic and confidential space within which to work together. I will support you as we journey through what has brought you to this page, we do this by taking our time to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences whilst also giving you tools for your tool kit to equip you into the future.
I am qualified in Transactional Analysis (TA) which was developed in the 1950's as a way of analysing our ways of communicating one with another. TA as it continues to develop helps us to understand how we we became who we are today and gives us choices on how we may wish to change some of the ways we behave towards ourselves and with others. It can also help us to understand how life events in the past have shaped us, from that understanding we may wish to look at areas we wish to change within ourselves.
I have trained and continue to train in other modalities whilst also taking seriously my continuing professional development, all of which enables me to offer you a fully integrated and relational way of working together that is you shaped and you focussed.
If after what you have seen and read and you would like to make contact please do so in a way which keeps you feeling safe, by using text, email or telephone. Should you choose to use the telephone and get my answer machine, I invite you to be brave and leave a message, remember I cannot see you, only hear you. It's easy to forget to leave your telephone number, so do remember and I will get back to you usually within 24 hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
My experience in working with people in many life situations is vast and varied, yet the one constant is that with each person, their needs and their stories are central in all of my work.
I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, having trained and qualified to level 7 Post Graduate Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy (TA) graduating in 2007 from Leeds Becket University. TA began in the 1950's as a way of analysing how we communicate with each other and how those communications shape us from very early life, helping us to understand how we became who we are today. I am committed to ongoing Continuing Personal Development (CPD) and have regular supervision, these commitments help me to bring new integrate new approaches to my work.
I have Disclosure and Baring Service (DBS) Level 3 certificate, and am a registered member of both the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. adhering to both bodies Code of Ethics. I am fully insured to practice and am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICA) who ensure my GDPR is congruent with the standards expected.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
