About me

Hello and welcome.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile, I am Yvonne of Lifepath Counselling and Psychotherapy Services and well done for taking the first step in seeking the support you need.
My aim is to support you by creating a safe space online or on the telephone, where we can work in ways appropriate to you which enables you to explore the feelings and behaviours that are not always understood and to make the changes you chose to make.
I specialise in the areas of bereavement, grief, trauma, anxiety, ill health, disability,  relationship difficulties and uncertainty.

I believe that building a genuine relationship with my clients, through my integrity, openness, honesty, compassion and in valuing the other non-judgmentally leads to a trusting therapeutic alliance.

I offer online and telephone sessions.  If you feel able, why not take the next step and contact me for a conversation or initial consultation without any further obligation.

Training, qualifications & experience

I began training in counselling in 2002,  gaining my first certificate in counselling skills in 2005.  As I became more aware of what changes could be brought about during a therapeutic/counselling relationship, I began training in Transactional Analysis qualifying at Post Graduate Diploma level in 2007.  In 2006 I began training in Ministry and Theology, qualifying in 2008 at Post Graduate Diploma level. I was also ordained as a Deacon in 2008 and a priest in 2009.

Ongoing professional development is important to me, you may find my other  qualifications on my website which can be accessed at:  https://www.lifepath-counselling-and-psychotherapy.co.uk

My experience in working with people in many life situations is vast and varied,  with each person, their needs and their stories being central in all of my work.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
