About us
A warm welcome to The Children's Wellness Centre. We are an independent, award winning, paediatric therapy centre, based in Tunbridge Wells, providing child and adolescent counselling and play-based therapy sessions for those aged 3-17 years.
We have two bright and welcoming therapy rooms which are used for the sole purpose of counselling children and teenagers. The rooms are not ever used for adult sessions, therefore are designed and fully equipped with the child and young person in mind.
We have a designated room for counselling children in pre-school and primary school and a separate adolescent room for those in secondary school.
Our rooms are kept to a high standard, regularly maintained and include a variety of toys, games, creative resources, art materials and a designated talking area.
Training, qualifications & experience
Our team of counsellors all have clinical and formal training in relation to child and adolescent mental health and are all qualified child and young people counsellors. We have a strict policy on this within our organisation, that we do not work with adult-trained counsellors, as this is a completely different field of work.
Our counsellors are all registered with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Children's Wellness Centre originated in West London in 2016 and a second branch was opened in Tunbridge Wells in 2021.
As well as child and adolescent counselling, we have multiple other therapy rooms within our centre, whereby we provide a variety of paediatric therapies; from Autism/ADHD Assessments, Occupational Therapy, Educational Psychology, Physiotherapy, Nutritional Therapy and more.
We have won several awards for our work.
