About me

Hi I am Tanya, I am an experienced neurodivergent psychotherapist, doing on line or phone sessions. I work with anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, trauma, PTSD, neurodivergence, negative internal dialogue and low self-esteem.

I myself have used therapy over the years to help me work through a lot of the above issues and have found it to be transformative and now I  want to be able to use my skills and experience to help others.

Through our work together we will look back to your childhood, how you were raised, your family dynamics and how you responded to the world around you at different stages of your childhood and early teens. Without realising it you will of developed coping strategies that worked for you at certain ages and as they worked then you have continued to use them now. The problem is that these coping methods no longer work when you are an adult and that is where the change comes. Together we can work on improved coping strategies from a place of understanding and compassion, this will result in less frustration and more confidence in yourself and your decisions, greater feelings of self worth and improved self awareness.

"The sessions have been extremely helpful - I now feel I have developed some of the tools needed to achieve the peace and relaxation I was working on" HP

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
