About me
**Sometimes my emails go to spam, so please enter your phone number when enquiring. I will send you a text to let you know I have responded to your enquiry. Thank you.**
A warm welcome. I am a registered MBACP counsellor and founder of Root and Flow Counselling. I provide online and in-person counselling sessions for women (18+) and girls (13 to 17) in Leamington Spa, Fenny Compton and Southam.
As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, authentic and confidential relationship from which you can explore your difficult experiences at your own pace. I adapt my approach to your specific needs, ensuring you receive counselling that best serves you.
In our sessions, I am committed to seeing through your lens of perception and accepting you as you are in each moment. I will journey alongside you as you explore your challenges, discover your own insights and move towards self-acceptance and openness.
I incorporate somatic awareness into my practice which is tailored to you as an individual. This can involve guiding you to tune into your felt-sense in the present moment, exploring emotions and bodily sensations in relation to your narrative, and breathing exercises to encourage grounding, connection and regulation.
I also offer psychoeducation on Polyvagal Theory in which the knowledge you gain about your autonomic nervous system can invite a more compassionate understanding of yourself and empower you to respond effectively to dysregulated states with a myriad of tools that work for you.
Whether your therapy is short or long-term, I work to ensure that you get the most out of our sessions together. This involves regularly checking in with you in order to review and explore how you are experiencing the process.
As a registered member of the BACP, my practice is underpinned by the ethical framework, ongoing supervision and continual professional development. I hold a clean enhanced DBS certificate and I am subscribed to the DBS Update Service.
Please see my website, www.rootandflowcounselling.com, for more details about myself and my practice.
What to expect in our first session
The initial consultation is an opportunity for us to meet, discuss what brought you to counselling and help us decide whether I could be the right counsellor for you. It is a space for you to talk freely and ask any questions you may have. The 30-minute session can take place online (via Google Meet) or in-person.
Online: £30, In-person: £40.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
