Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Hi Sue
Many thanks for assisting me with quitting smoking. This is now two weeks after the first session and I’m still not smoking, I feel great in myself very positive I’m looking forward to the future. never thought I would quit but I have and I have no craving or desire to have a cigarette
Best wishes M H-R

Hi Sue . I called to see you last Thursday evening and what a difference I feel in myself. I haven't wanted any chocolate since and went out yesterday with the kids and didn't feel I was missing out on the unhealthy food and treats...i just didn't even have to try...Thank you! JB

Oldpain2go: "Sue I would like to thank you for the pain relief hypnotherapy sessions given over last week I've suffered years of pain from scaffolding work over the last 35 years, I've have all types of treatment and had some light relief, my pains listed:

  • Lower back ache & pain
  • Sciatic pain
  • Quad/buttock ache & pain
  • Calf ache & pain
  • Arthritis in my fingers

Following just two sessions the pains I suffered have gone from a scale of 10 to 1, I'm now sleeping and not breaking my sleep as I did before, I feel much happier and free of the long term pain I've suffered, I'm so pleased I researched your services and was happy to travel.

Thank you so much" - LS

"I can’t thanks sue enough for everything she has done for me. I am a completely different person from when I first came to sue a few months ago. I was suffering with bad anxiety, lack of confidence, constantly overthinking which was effecting my general day to day life and this was also affecting my sleep. Since my sessions with sue I have seen a massive transformation in myself and so have my friends and family. Hypnotherapy has completely changed my life. I am so much happier, confident, calmer, clear minded and stronger. Sue, you are amazing. Thank you so so so much xxx"

"Just wanted to drop you a little note to let you know how I’ve been getting on! It’s exactly 1 month today since I had gastric sleeve hypnosis with you and I have lost 17lbs!! I still have a long way to go to get to my goal weight but so far it’s been a breeze! Honestly it’s magic, you’ve completely changed my outlook on my relationship with food. I don’t feel hungry and I still feel motivated to keep going so thank you sue x"

"After trying a few different things, research brought me to hypnotherapy. Sue was fantastic, made me feel really comfortable, and really made a difference to my mindset. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending her. A great experience in a fantastic setting." - CB

IEMT: "Good morning sue hope you are well, I have felt really relaxed & calm since my session with you so thank you very much for that, I’m still amazed how all the emotions we carry around for years can be desensitised just with eye movements!! It’s awesome"

"Hi Susan, I wanted to reach out and express how much your therapy with you has helped me. Before I had a session with you I had this ongoing thought in my mind of distrust, and after the session it has completely gone away. I have no idea how, but it did. It feels like magic.

I don't have the right words to express how much that has changed my day to day. I can be happy again and not have to worry about what is on my mind to the point that I couldn't move forward in my relationship."

"I live in New Haven, CT (USA) and at first I wasn't sure if this is something that was going to work because I was so far away. But it did, and I thank you so much for fixing what was wrong.

I am recommending you to every friend I have in the US and Spain for sure!!

Thank you so much Susan." - Laura

"One of the best hours of my life! Genuinely! thank you so much." - A

"I have tired CBT and counselling in the past, both of which have never helped me. Sue has carried out lots of different kinds of therapy with me which is needed due to childhood trauma and deep routed anxiety. I can’t begin to describe the positive results I have had from receiving therapy from Sue. She has genuinely changed my life and given me strength I didn’t know I had. Sue is so passionate about helping people, I always feel listened to and safe which is important to me. I can’t thank you enough".

"During the COVID 19 pandemic I joined Sues deep relaxation sessions. I was feeling very anxious and unable to sleep. After one session I was able to use some of the grounding techniques and breathing when I needed to calm myself. Sue made the steps easy to follow and she made me feel safe and comfortable. Thank you so much for helping me through such a difficult time and giving me the tools to help me in the future." - SD

"Hi hope your well, I’m letting you know I’m cured so no need for me to come to my session tomorrow, hope that’s ok? I feel so much better, thanks for your help." - NJ

"I'd definitely have another Zoom sessions sue.....being at home in comfort and not having to leave the house then drive home after it. I vacuumed and mopped my kitchen yesterday without the anxiety of suffering the pain for a few days....back is aching today but not feeling sad or stressed about it!!!! So fingers crossed and Thank you xxx"

Virtual Session via Zoom: "That was brilliant absolutely perfect. Worked for me, it was superb...I felt the same feeling as just waking up in the morning after a good nights sleep...I didn't fall asleep I was very much aware but very very relaxed state...great work, very professional, tone of voice, techniques of walking us through, even the preliminary parts before set the tone. Spot on. Thank you"

"Susan was recommended to me by a friend. I’d recently started studying for professional qualifications and was trying to balance work, university and home life. I was in a high state of anxiety. Anxiety isn’t new to me, when I’m stressed or under pressure anxiety is my default position, which usually ends up with a bout of depression. I needed to find a way to deal with it, I needed to be able to breathe , think clearly and apply myself. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I thought I would give it a try. Susan gave me a lovely warm welcome in a safe and beautiful environment. We discussed my worries, Susan listened and talked to me, she taught me some techniques I could use In my everyday life and then we proceeded to hypnotherapy. I left with a sense of relief and a lower level of anxiety. I managed to sleep and was calmer and focused in tackling my studies. I continued to see Susan monthly over the past months. I use the techniques Susan had taught me and enjoy the benefits of the hypnotherapy sessions. I am much calmer. I have managed to pass my all my exams. I honestly believe that I couldn’t have done this without the work put in by Susan and myself. What this has enabled me to do is to be calm , not to be completely overwhelmed by anxiety , not to have that fear/flight emotion of sitting down in an exam room and being able to concentrate. In the past I would be in such a state , yes I still experienced nerves (which is normal) but not overwhelmed with anxiety. I’m not just scraping these exams, I am doing well and I truly believe this therapy has enabled me to do so. My friend and I describe Susan as a lovely warm hug in human form!"
