About me
As an Integrative therapist, my core therapeutic mode is Existential and Relational, with a gentle Humanistic foundation. I describe myself as friendly, approachable and playful.
I believe that the quality of the relationship between client and therapist is vital for growth, challenge and acceptance, especially in moments of pain, hopeless or crisis. My non-directive style, teamed with gentle and attentive enquiry allows me to check in with your lived reality and explore the layers of feeling that are present.
I welcome and encourage the true parts of ourselves to be witnessed in a supportive space. By growing feelings of trust, collaboratively we can explore parts that may have felt small, guarded, dangerous or shameful.
Training, qualifications & experience
I completed an introduction to counselling at the Mary Ward Centre and went on to complete my Diploma in Integrative Counselling at The Minster Centre. This training was rich in experiential engagement as well as the main psychotherapy schools of thought. This includes working with the body and our experience beyond our material one.
This integration has allowed me to approach each individual holistically and with awareness of the impact of our social and political lives. Our concepts of identity and belonging touches all of our relationships as well as the relationship we have with ourselves.
I have years of experience in working with people who have been diagnosed with HIV, people struggling with sex, gender and sexuality, psychosexual issues and people with a history of chemsex.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I understand that coming to therapy can feel uncomfortable, confronting or even anxiety-provoking.
In the first session we will have an informal and free flowing assessment so I can understand what has brought you to therapy, a brief understanding of your history, current issues and expectations.
