About me

Life can be overwhelming and sometimes even exhausting but I'm here to guide you through any obstacles you may face. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply and better cope with change. You will learn that vulnerability is a strength.

Sometimes a person just needs someone to listen to and validate their feelings.

I implement effective psychotherapy by integrating different psychological approaches to cater to you.

I had therapy as a child, I experienced trauma and could not regulate my emotions so I had therapy. Therapy helped me in lots of ways understand and helped me understand myself in a way I never thought possible. Throughout my life, I have experienced life-debilitating anxiety. I have managed to control my anxiety from the knowledge I have learned about how our minds and bodies work. I am confident I can also help you to also understand your mind too.

I have been working with adults and children for 8 years, I am a qualified social worker with 6 years experience. I am also a qualified therapist, I work with children and adults and have completed a year of play therapy at a primary school.

I do have a cozy therapy room situated in Lytham St Annes where I offer talking therapy and play therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

As a former social worker with experience, I understand the importance of creating a safe emotional environment for children to express their feelings. Building a connection with a child takes time and patience. I will work to ensure that your child feels safe and comfortable in our sessions by:

Sending you questionnaires
Your child's interests must be taken into consideration. During the initial session, I will include items they are passionate about and interested in from knowledge gained from the questionnaire results.

Be patient
Some children will not feel comfortable verbally expressing their feelings immediately; patience is critical.

30 minute taster session
I offer a free 30-minute taster session to allow your child to experience therapy; this way, there is no pressure on them to continue as we will go at their pace.

COUPLES PSYCHOTHERAPY
Relationships can be challenging, and it's common for couples to have arguments. However, sometimes these disagreements can escalate, and it becomes difficult to find a resolution. While conflicts are every day, occasionally hurtful things are said, and it can feel impossible to move forward.   As your assistant, I help couples improve their communication skills. Effective communication is critical to a healthy relationship, and I can guide you to ensure that both partners are heard and understood. I'll encourage you to take responsibility for your part in the issues and support your partner in doing the same. I will listen to both of you and offer gentle guidance when I sense a miscommunication.   It's essential to build trust and find the strength to move forward. With my help, you can learn to communicate better and develop more substantial relationships.

ADULT PSYCHOTHERAPY
I provide a comprehensive psychotherapy service that combines a range of psychological techniques to suit your individual needs. We will focus on resolving current issues and enhancing positive thinking and behaviours during our sessions. I will guide you in reframing your reactions and equip you with practical tools to overcome life's challenges. I always strive to improve myself, whether it's learning new skills or finding ways to be more efficient. I believe that continuous improvement is essential for personal and professional growth. That's why I'm always open to feedback and suggestions from others, so I can identify areas where I can improve and become even more effective at helping people. Whether it's through my communication skills or my ability to find the right information quickly, I'm always looking for ways to get better and be the best Psychotherapist I can be.
