About me

***Please be aware that I am temporarily unavailable and will update my profile once I am back at work.***

Thank you for clicking on the little picture of my face! My name is Sarah, and I would love the opportunity to get to know you.

I am a person centred counsellor offering both online and face to face counselling in Peasedown St. John just outside of Bath. Together, we will create a space that feels warm, non-judgemental and restorative and I will listen, understand and truly empathise with your personal experience.

Therapeutic change happens when you find the right counsellor for you. I will offer you all the knowledge and experience I have, but I believe that the most meaningful healing will come from our relationship and person to person connection.

I work in a person-centred way which means that our sessions will be mostly led by you. Sometimes it can be difficult to find the words for how you are feeling, and in these times, I may take a more holistic approach and use movement, breathing and creativity to work with your thoughts and feelings. Together, we will find a way for you to feel more confident, resilient and develop a greater sense of purpose and enjoyment in life.

I am passionate about helping you with whatever you may wish to work on – no issue is too big or too small.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My training is integrative and informed by trauma and attachment theory.

I regularly attend training courses to help me become the best counsellor for my clients. I also have ongoing supervision to support my work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
