About me

I am a fully trained counsellor who works in a pluralistic approach that is individually tailored to help my client expand and grow in self-awareness, build on inner strength, and utilise their own unique resources to promote a greater sense of inner freedom and psychological growth.

In sessions, the client and I work together in a collaborative relationship to build on insight and understanding of what is underlying the challenges that bring them to therapy. We look at what is causing their difficulty and how this impacts their life and well-being. We may explore implementing alternative ways of being more in tune with their truth and who they are in their true self.

I am a registered BACP member and work within the BACP codes of ethics and commit to maintaining professional confidentiality in all my work with clients. If you wish to have an initial discussion with me via telephone to see how you feel about the possibility of working together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a HE Diploma in person-centred and experiential counselling from Glyndwr University. I also have a Level 6 in Online & Telephone Counselling at Glyndwr University.

I am passionate about working with the client in a very bespoke approach. I am trained in a person-Centred approach, have undertaken CBT training and am a Mental Health First Aider. I have taken additional training in specific issues, such as child/baby loss training,  FGM abuse and domestic violence. I work with individuals aged 18 or over.

I work with clients, and it is a collaborative relationship in which the client can lead and request the approach that works well for them. Or try different methods to see what fits the clients' wants and needs.

I work in my private practice - however, I also work as a sessional counsellor with an NHS-funded charity.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and follow their ethical framework.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
